I really do believe in this product and it needs to be out there in the blogs and resources more which is why I wanted to go into further depth of my experience with it. I loved it when i bought it -- the most incredible hold I've ever seen and the most natural ingredients. I found that in using it originally I didn't know the proper use (it differs in different textures, more on this later), and I was left with curls that were on the more crunchy side with not as much definition. After talking to a friend who swore by bounce curl, i gave that line's gel a try, thinking I could do better. Wash day after wash day I learned that my styles weren't lasting more than day two and realized both the friend who swore by the product and the influencer I was learning from did not have the same dense texture as I did. I was really craving a stronger hold. At the same time in this journey I picked up more and more tips, what it takes to get moisture and definition in the styles, all things I was holding the carina gel accountable for which I learned was wrong! Once I nailed the proper balance of moisture (leave in conditioner from another brand), curl definition (curl cream from another brand + a denman brush), and proper gel cast breaking best practices (with an oil), I decided to give the carina organics gel another go and boy did it deliver. If your hair is thinner, curls are softer, you may not the trifecta as much as I have been finding I need and this product works amazing even for you since you can dilute it with water to soften the hold. But if you were like me earlier in this paragraph, do not give up on this product. It is the best gel and I am eternally grateful I have come across it.
This is the only gel we use for our son. It never flakes and gives the perfect amount of hold. The smell is not overwhelmingly. I highly recommend this gel!
This is a nice light gel. It doesn’t have a very strong hold but it was enough for me because I don’t like a very strong hold gel. It might be a bit drying specially if your hair is naturally dry. It didn’t make my hair super hard or sticky which I liked. The smell is nice and light. Overall good product but may not be for someone who is looking for a strong hold gel.
I love the Sweetpea Styling Gel and Hairspray. They smell wonderful and have nothing inside that's bad, AND THEY WORK! The Hairspray holds my hair well, even in the wind, and it's NOT sticky! Since I use such a small amount of the products, they're a great value too. My previously purchased products from a different company were more than double the cost of Carina Organics, and the nozzles got clogged and they just didn't work as well overall. I will definitely be buying your products again. I'm a Carina Organics Convert!!
I have 2 children with curly hair and one who dances and needs a neat bun. This gel provides hold without being too hard and has a light pleasant smell. My kids & I aren’t fans of most over scented products so finding one we all like is rare. Highly recommend! Happy to have found an organic alcohol free gel that works.
